Coffee standards please!

Citizens of London.. Why oh why do we put up with the quite frankly poor standards of coffee that pervade this city?  Italians would have rioted in the streets by now.  The French would have gone on strike, of course.  Why do we all seem content with Starbucks/Costa/Nero swill?

Are we not European?  Should we not be demanding a higher standard of coffee culture? At this point I suppose I should give it up to the likes of Fernandez and Wells and Flat white in Soho who consistently keep the flag flying high for us true believers.

Don when it comes to coffee there is such a thing as a properly made latte, so less to do with personal opinion and more to do with using quality coffee beans and the skills of the barista. I suggest you try Flat white or Fernandez and Wells – which is a chain store too you know. They cost no more than Costa but you simply get a better cup of coffee.

Let’s see … do you understand the concept of “taste”? Like in art or clothes and such? It doesn’t mean “what I like” but rather it means “what you like”. In other words, when it comes to taste, to each his own. For you and coffee, it’s a case of getting away from the chain coffee joints so you can pay a lot and believe that what your drinking is not “swill”. For me, I love Costa’s coffee. Standards? Exactly whose do you mean?
