Well I'm sold...
Go old spice! I remember my father telling me to avoid men who smelt like it. lol

Ah Brisbane, while I know its much too hot when I am there I can't help but think about you now... Especially when its snowing and the Times weatherman descibes UK weather like this..."There is no end in sight,” he said. “It will be grim followed by grim followed by bleak."
This is one of my favourite memories of Brisbane. The iconic Channel 7 Love you Brisbane campaign. Enjoy and if there are any peeps from BrisVegas reading have a pot of beer for me at the Regatta hotel. ;)
Another blast from the past.. Learning how to dance with Leroy (swedish style)
Top style from all involved. :)
Its funny how certain times of year can trigger memories. As we head towards the end of another year my mind can't help but drift back to my very good friend Alex Klement. He died last year, he was still in his early 20's, he had his whole life ahead of him. In many ways he was way older than his years and I can't help but think that perhaps Alex grew up far too quickly.. Too much money, too much success and all the pressures that come with it.
His death has of course effected all of his friends very deeply.. especially considering the way he died. But I guess we deal with things in our own ways. Unlike a lot of other people I kept to myself. I didn't much want to talk about his death or what he had meant to me. It was the only way I could keep it together. But here we are, more than a year later and it still makes me cry. I remember at last years work xmas party a co worker quite innocently asked me about him and immediately I was in tears at the thought of him. I remember a new years party from a couple of years ago when Alex was one of the last people to leave my house. I didn't want him to leave either. I wish he wasn't gone now.So this song is for you Alex. It pretty much describes how I feel when I think of not being able to see you again. My heart goes out to your family at this time of year. xx
So its been a long week and as its soon the end of the decade I'm getting a bit nostalgic about what I've been up to for the last ten years.
Quite a few of those years were spent in dark dark dingy clubs boshing to tunes such as this... Get the f*ck right in!

Ok so maybe I've ripped off Portishead for todays update.. But frankly they wouldn't mind. Today it was dark at around 3.30pm. I know its "that" time of year but its doing nothing for my motivation. Add the fact I don't have a working bathroom due to ongoing construction and I've been told my boiler is leaking gas you could forgive a certain amount of dark humour..
This post is also to test this new feature posterous has developed. Apparently discussion on my blog posts can now take place on Facebook? Dutifully I've created the required API keys and generally been a geek. Hopefully this will work.Mr G on this Friday I salute you and all lovers of "filth meat".

This week I've been grumpy and yes everyone has noticed. But you know being a producer isn't a particularly easy task at times. You are everyone's problem solver and whilst I admit I do this naturally, sometimes you do wonder why people just don't think for themselves a little.
Still I mustn't complain (any more than usual). I have a brand new ice cream maker and the Ben and Jerrys recipe book. Tonight we feast on delicious fattening treats!Edit: Brilliant linkage from @turnipcris http://clientsfromhell.tumblr.com/

Some of you already know I was unfortunate enough to receive 2 CCTV fines for being in a bus lane. They were both on the same street at pretty much the same time of the day and yes I did the same thing in both. I was only the edge of the bus lane for about 10m tops and there was no obstruction to any bus at the time.
As you can imagine coming home to find 2 fines in your mailbox is depressing to say the least especially when you consider motorbikes are now allowed in *most* bus lanes in London. Its the *most* aspect that I feel a bit ranty about. Its hard enough riding a bike in London, you have to keep your wits about you what with lunatics everywhere on the roads. The particular stretch of road in question has bus lanes that allow motorbikes and its just the last stretch before you hit a roundabout that the lane has changed conditions. I know this as I had to return to the scene of the fines to work out what the hell had happened. There is no advance warning sign advising the rider of changed conditions until the bus lane starts and as its at a very busy intersection it makes it even harder to see and quite dangerous to react to.In any case I've decided to take on the council.. More investigation reveals that the bus lane in question doesn't even conform to legal standards in terms of signs & lane markings.Today has been a slow day for news which might explain why the reopening of the Oxford St crossing has got so much media coverage.
Yes you can walk across it diagonally now. For those of us who come from other countries where we have been crossing intersections diagonally for quite some time this might not seem like much.. But for a city like London where escalators on the underground can take years to be fixed this IS progress. When I think of the term urban landscapes I immediately think of the wonderful Australian painter Jeffery Smart. It must be at least 10 years since I saw an exhibition of his at the Queensland art gallery but the images are still burned into my mind. Here are a few of my favourites.. and of course Oxford St in all its crowd numbing glory.
